Evacuation and Repopulation Updates for Carr Fire and Mendocino Complex Fires

While the Carr Fire and Mendocino Complex fires continue to grow, residents of some areas are being allowed to return to their homes.

I. The Carr Fire is up 115,538 acres and is creeping into Trinity County. The National Interagency Fire Center, or NIFC, posted an interactive map showing areas that are free to be repopulated, and those still under mandatory evacuation. This post contains the map as of 4:30 PM, however the live, interactive map can be found here. Green areas are ready to be repopulated and red areas are under mandatory evacuations. The map shows, and the Trinity Journal has reported, that the town of Lewiston in Trinity County is under mandatory evacuation and the evacuation zone is coming close to Weaverville.

Evacuation Orders have been lifted and residents may return to their homes in the following areas:

Eureka Way to Buenaventura Blvd

Buenaventura Blvd from Hwy 299 (Eureka Way) to Hwy 273

Teton Road including the White Hawk Subdivision

Canyon Creek Dr including the Country Heights Subdivision

All surface streets off Westside Rd including El Reno Lane, Kenyon Dr, Branstetter Lane and Cedars Rd.

Branstetter Lane to Texas Spring Rd encompassing roads on Branstetter Lane

Hwy 273 at Westwood Dr including the Westwood subdivision

Clear Creek Rd from Hwy 273 to Honey Bee Rd

Reentry to Mary Lake subdivision will be for residents only. Access into the area for residents of the Mary Lake subdivision will be from Buenaventura Blvd to Lakeside Dr or from Placer Rd to Mary Lake Dr

The will be no access to Placer Rd west of Boston Ave and to Eureka Way/SR-299 west of Ridge Dr

The evacuation order remains for homes accessed via Dillard Lane and homes accessed via Record Lane west of Nantucket Dr

Some residents living on Quinton Dr, Brinn Dr, Ridge Dr and Kikee Dr may only have limited access to their properties due to safety concerns

The East side of Eureka Way to Buenaventura Blvd is open for residents

Reminder: Placer Rd is closed west of Buenaventura Blvd

Douglas City and communities along SR-299 East to Poker Bar Rd

Poker Bar Rd northwest to Union Hill Rd

SR299 will be closed at Poker Bar Rd to through traffic

The communities south of Lake Blvd from Market Street to Oasis Rd with the exception Keswick Dam Rd and Quartz Hill Rd

The following roads along Lake Blvd. will reopen; Masonic Ave, Clay St, Saint Marks St, Panorama Dr, Tamarack Dr and Santa Rosa Way

Benton Dr will be open from Market St to Quartz Hill Rd with the exception of River Park Dr

Quartz Hill Rd will open from Market St to Benton Dr, Court St will open from Riverside Dr to Quartz Hill Rd

The Happy Valley Community except for Cloverdale Rd west of heavenly Valley Lane

All residences on China Gulch Dr from Canyon Rd to Oak St and Oak St south to the intersection of Cloverdale Rd

Hawthorne Ave from Happy Valley Rd to Oak St

Cloverdale Rd at Heavenly Valley Lane will remain closed and all areas west of this closure will remain under mandatory evacuations

City of Shasta Lake with exception of Summit City

Oasis Rd west of I-5 to Lake Blvd

Pine Grove at Iron Horse Rd will remain closed and all areas west of this closure in the Summit City proper will remain under mandatory evacuation

SR-151 (Shasta Dam Blvd) at Sacramento St will remain closed and all areas west of this closure in Summit City proper will remain under mandatory evacuation

Oasis Rd at Lake Blvd will remain closed and all areas on both sides of Lake Blvd north of this closure will remain under mandatory evacuation

River Park Highlands subdivision

For residents returning home to river Park Highland subdivision, use Benton Dr to access River Park Dr

The road will remain closed at Quartz Hill and Terra Nova Dr

The communities of Summit City and Buckeye to include the following areas; Lake Blvd north of Oasis Rd to the Shasta Dam, Pine Grove Ave west from Iron Horse Rd to Lake Blvd, Walker Mine Rd to the overhead powerlines, all residences n Walker Mine Rd west of the overhead powerlines remain under mandatory evacuations, Quartz Hill Rd from Lake Blvd just west of Counter Lane will open, a closure will be in effect at Quartz Hill Rd west of Counter Lane, all residents west of this closure point will remain under mandatory evacuations

Evacuation orders have been lifted in the Happy Valley area, however, mandatory evacuations are still in effect for the communities of Igo and Ono

Road closures will be at the intersection of Placer Rd and Platina Rd, Clear Creek Rd and Cloverdale Rd.  Gas Point Rd will remain opento through traffic.  All areas west on Platina Rd and north on Placer Rd will remain under mandatory evacuation.

Evacuation orders have been lifted in the Montgomery Ranch area.  This will include Texas Springs Rd, Montgomery Ranch Rd, Camino Del Encina Dr and all other roadways within this area

Road closures will be in place at Texas Springs Rd at Placer Rd and Montgomery Ranch Rd at Placer Rd

There will be no access to Placer Rd

II. The Mendocino Complex Fire has grown to 90,912 acres and is 24% contained. It is made up of the Ranch Fire which is 59,014 acres, and the River Fire which is 31,898 acres. Yesterday, mandatory evacuation orders were lifted or reduced to evacuation warnings for some areas including the Communities of Potter Valley, Kelseyville, Finley, and Big Valley Rancheria.

Calfire has noted the following restrictions:  the Evacuation Order for Potter Valley including Pine Avenue and Mid Mountain remains in effect. Also, the Evacuation Advisory remains in effect for the Kelseyville area north of Lake Sonoma County Line; east of Bottle Rock Road; south of Clear Lake; and west of Soda Bay Road, Red Hills Road, and Highway CA-175; including the subdivisions of Soda Bay, Riviera Heights, Buckingham Park, Riviera West, and Clear Lake Riviera west of Soda Bay Road.
