Chris Howard and Gerry Hemmingsen will stay in their seats as Del Norte County Supervisors according to preliminary results from the county elections office.
Hemmingsen received 51.75% of the vote in the fourth district contest. The next nearest candidate, David Mason received 25.5% of the vote. If these numbers hold when results are finalized, Hemmingsen will retain the seat without a runoff.
Incumbent Chris Howard received 66.1% of the votes cast. His only rival, Jake Smith pulled in 397 votes for 33.64%.
Measure A, that imposes term limits on future supervisors, passed handily, with 63.88% of the ballots cast voting "yes".
