KHSU Magazine: Mental Health Awareness Month

Mental health needs don't always mean serious mental illness; it might be depression or anxiety, addiction or any number of issues which can disrupt daily life and activities.

Patty Ravitz, LMFT and President of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists spoke to Danielle Orr during the KHSU Magazine.

Research published within the mental health community has examined reasons for avoiding seeking help, showing there are significant barriers; social stigma, fear of sharing one's emotions and additionally, there are some cultural backgrounds which can be less open to therapy, or seeking help. www.californiacounseling.com for more information and a list of licensed therapists.
