New shows debut on KHSU

As you’ve heard, we’re airing The California Report, produced by KQED in San Francisco, at 6:52 and 8:52 during Morning Edition. The California Report brings you news and culture from around the Golden State.

The morning service with Saul Gonzalez in Los Angeles and Madi Bolaños in San Francisco starts your day with coverage of issues, trends, and public policy decisions affecting California and its diverse population.

Debuting tomorrow morning are Cultivating Place from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and Blue Dot from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Through thoughtful conversations with growers, gardeners, naturalists, scientists, artists, and thinkers, Cultivating Place show host Jennifer Jewell illustrates the many ways in which gardens are integral to our natural and cultural literacy.

These conversations celebrate how these interconnections support the places we cultivate, how they nourish our bodies and feed our spirits.

Each week Blue Dot host Dave Schlom takes you to curiosities across our universe.

Featuring interviews with leading scientists, authors, filmmakers and journalists from around the world, Blue Dot examines our home from a planetary perspective. Whether it’s a discussion about our life-giving oceans, the imperiled climate systems, the depths of space, or how a rock guitar works, Blue Dot is an adventure of discovery.

There will be a small change on the weekend as well. Debuting 9 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 20, will be Planet Money/How I Built This. Each week this hourlong show will tell clever stories of the personal and global economy as well as interviews with innovators, entrepreneurs and idealists. The show will rerun at 6 p.m. on Sundays. The show replaces It’s Been A Minute.

Thanks for listening.
