Human Rights Survey

Human Rights Survey

Humboldt County is a diverse rural community with a long history and many unique ways of living. December is Universal Human Rights Month. In celebration of the occasion, the Humboldt County Human Rights Commission (HCHRC) asks residents to participate in an anonymous survey designed to assess the awareness and understanding of human rights in the county. The survey will be available online and in paper starting December 3rd. A link to the survey will be available on the Humboldt County website humboldtgov.org as well as other sources. Search Humboldt Human Rights Commission and click the Human Rights Survey link. This study is being conducted by the HCHRC led by Ellen Murphy, a student with the Social Work Department at Humboldt State University. The survey should take about ten minutes to complete. Participation in this study is voluntary. The survey results will provide the HCHRC with data needed to make policy recommendations to the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors about inclusivity, equity, and diversity. We anticipate that this report and presentation will be ready in May of 2022. In addition, an executive summary of the report will be made available on the HCHRC website for all to access. If you have any questions regarding the survey or this research project in general, don't hesitate to contact Ellen Murphy at elm98@humboldt.edu.
