Jessica Brenda Pérez Mendoza

Jessica Brenda Pérez Mendoza is co-host of a weekly local talk show on Radio Bilingüe, Charlando Con la Raza.

She is a Ph.D. student in Latin American Studies at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). Brenda has done research at the Institute of Political Studies in Lyon and the University of Montreal. She completed her master's degree research in Mexico, Bolivia, and Argentina, which includes field work in production areas of the Coca leaf. This research was published in Argentina (2016) with the title: Politics and International Legislation on the coca leaf. Lessons from the Bolivian case for Latin America. Brenda is a member of the UNESCO Chair on political and social transformations related to illicit drug trafficking at UNAM. Since June 2017, she has been a guest researcher at the Humboldt Institute for Interdisciplinary Marijuana Research and the Department of Anthropology of the Humboldt State University. She currently works with Centro del Pueblo in proactivist events.
