North Coast Conversations: The Haunted Kinetic Labyrinth of Horrors

Halloween is around the corner, and Humboldt County has its fair share of haunted houses. The infamous kinetic lab in Arcata's creamery district is no exception.

For over 20 years, the lab has transformed every October into the haunted kinetic lab of horrors.

Designed by the same twisted minds that brought us Kinetic Sculptures such as the Octomom, Hippy-potpmous, and Roadkill, the labyrinth of horrors is designed to mess with your mind and perception.

This week, I ventured into the lab to meet with Ken Bidelman and Malia Matsumoto to learn more.

The Lab will be open Thursday through Saturday, as well as Halloween from 7 to midnight. Live music and food trucks will be outside to entertain the queue. Tickets will be available at the door. For more details, visit their glorious website at kineticsculpturelab.com

Thank you for listening, and stay tuned for more episodes of North Coast Conversations as we explore more of what the North Coast has to offer.

Alejandro Zepeda has worked for KHSU since early 2020, providing news, PSA’s, and an interview show called North Coast Conversations to the station.
