This week Wendy Butler talks with Michael Warr, Poetry Editor for the book "Of Poetry & Protest: From Emmett Till to Trayvon Martin" (W.W. Norton & Company).

Warr is also an award-winning poet and Deputy Director of San Francisco's Museum of the African Diaspora. "This book is as much a call to action as it is a call to embrace the relevance and humanity of its creative content," he writes in his essay at the start of this book.

The book was published in June. It is a collection of poems and other writings and insights by lauded African-American authors. The publication includes not only text but also photographs and other pieces of graphic design that enhance the text and overall message.
