Arcata Rising is a benefit in support of people affected by the recent fire in downtown Arcata.
The three-day event will feature over 40 musical acts at Humboldt Brews January 30th through February 1st.

Organizers are asking local businesses to donate products or services for a silent auction.

  • Michael Roccaforte is a KHSU Operations Coordinator and hosts the World and All Things Considered. He started out as a KHSU Experience student in 2015. He then graduated from HSU in 2016 with a Journalism degree and is happy to be working in Humboldt County at KHSU since.
  • Tom Wheeler is the Program Director and Staff Attorney at the Environmental Protection Information Center. Tom graduated from the University of Washington School of Law with a concentration in Environmental Law. When he’s not nerding out over the Endangered Species Act (his all-time favorite law), Tom is probably plunking the banjo, playing ping-pong with his wife, Jenna, or petting his cats, Fatty and Trim.   • Katie works for the local PBS affiliate and is a former KHSU staff member. She is an occasional contributor to station public affairs programs.
  • Delia Bense-Kang worked as the Marine Protected Area Outreach Coordinator for the Northcoast Environmental Center, as well as the Chair of the Surfrider Foundation Humboldt Chapter, for several years. Born and raised in Arcata and a graduate of HSU, she has a strong connection to the local community. A life long love of surfing has contributed to her deep appreciation and vested interest in the North Coast. Delia enjoys bringing coastal news to the community and engaging people in protecting and enhancing the coast.
  • Felicia Oldfather hosts Classical Corner featuring a variety of chamber music and information about local classical performances throughout the listening area.
