Partnership with CapRadio and North State Public Radio
KHSU and Cal Poly Humboldt signed a Public Service Operating Agreement (PSOA) with CapRadio to run the day-to-day operations of the radio station and its network of transmitters. Cal Poly Humboldt retains the FCC-issued broadcast licenses and hired CapRadio with a 10-year management agreement. As part of the PSOA, all funds raised on behalf of KHSU (membership, grants, corporate support) are spent to support the programming and public service. If you have questions about this agreement, please contact us at khsu-contact@humboldt.edu.
Diversity Statement
KHSU adheres to federal law regarding workforce diversity goals articulated in the Federal Communications Commission regulations on Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) as stated in 47CFR § 73.2080: "Equal opportunity in employment shall be afforded by all licensees or permittees of commercially or non-commercially operated AM, FM, TV, Class A TV or international broadcast stations (as defined in this part) to all qualified persons, and no person shall be discriminated against in employment by such stations because of race, color, religion, national origin, or sex."
In addition, KHSU is licensed to Cal Poly Humboldt and follows the policies and guidelines of the university, including the university's commitment to diversity. Cal Poly Humboldt has a longstanding commitment to institutionalizing diversity, equity, and inclusion in all areas of its work, including KHSU. Cal Poly Humboldt affirms and protects the rights of students, employees, and the public to seek and obtain the services of the University without discrimination. No employee, student, or member of the public shall, on the basis of race, color, gender, religion, age, sexual orientation, marital status, pregnancy, disability, veteran status, or national or ethnic origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of or be otherwise subjected to unlawful discrimination, including discriminatory harassment, under any program of the University. Furthermore, as a department of Cal Poly Humboldt University, KHSU participates in the HSU Campus Diversity Plan 2013+. This campus-wide diversity plan provides the mechanism for benchmarking and evaluating success in meeting the university's stated goals relative to diversity.
