Soon after getting vaccinated against COVID-19 earlier this year, Portland cartoonist and educator Jonathan Hill realized that as an immunocompromised person, he likely wouldn't get the same level of protection that most people got from two doses. He went back to living as if he hadn't been vaccinated at all. But now, after health officials recommended an additional mRNA vaccine dose for many people with compromised immune systems, Hill has just gotten his third shot.
