This week on Artwaves: Humboldt State University Department of Theatre, Film & Dance takes on Noel Coward’s “Hay Fever,” a classic filled with bravado.

HSU theatre students Shawn Wagner and William English are in the play and discuss the play’s eccentric centerpiece, the Bliss family. Retiring HSU Professor Jim McHugh directs this play, and he explains not only why he loves this play but also shares his thoughts about live theatre’s importance in his and all of our lives. “Hay Fever” is on stage in Gist Hall Theatre this and next weekend.

Wendy Butler has produced and hosted Artwaves for 21 years, and is the local host for NPRs Weekend Edition.
