Arts Alive Showcase with Laci Dane - "Gilded Sage"

Join us for a most spectacular evening this Saturday during Arts Alive in Eureka! We’re thrilled to showcase a truly special event featuring one of Humboldt County’s most imaginative and talented artists: Laci Dane.
—The Gilded Sage: Where Nature Speaks in Gold,
Step into a world of vibrant wonder - “An eclectic and experimental collection of works celebrating the brilliance of the natural world, where bold, radiant colors illuminate the wisdom of the wild, and nature’s humblest beings.
Here, opulence is not man made, but gifted by earth itself—gilded by the sun, woven in a bird’s feather, and present in the ever-changing dance of the sky.
This is a tribute to nature—not in quiet whispers, but in bright, vivid expression.”
Laci Dane is a Humboldt-based artist whose work reflects a playful and imaginative spirit. While she explores a variety of styles, her art consistently gravitates toward dream-like imagery, rich colors, and ethereal themes. Deeply inspired by the natural world, Laci sees infinite possibilities in translating its beauty into visual stories. Her creative process is hands-on and sustainable—she crafts all of her own frames and wooden canvases, often using scavenged and repurposed materials to bring each piece to life with authenticity and care.
For this special evening, Laci will be showcasing her new works throughout the Ballroom as well as Phatsy Kline’s Lounge, and her permanent feature pieces outside on the Catio!

PLUS! Enjoy a live performance by Red Hot Shame from 6–9 PM. This Northern California-based indie rock group is fronted by singer-songwriter Xeff Scolari and features a dynamic lineup of musical collaborators: Steven Pitsenbarger (vocals, percussion), Ryan Wilson (guitar), Spencer Kennedy (bass, drums, keys, vocals), and Mark Bennet (harmonica). Their latest album, You Can’t Make Me, brings fresh energy and sonic storytelling you won’t want to miss.
SO! Come have a drink, eat some food, and immerse yourself in the vibrant fusion of art, music, and community. This is Arts Alive at its finest—and it’s FREE.
