Arcata Presbyterian Church Renovations

Danielle Orr

Christie McLain told KHSU Magazine host Danielle Orr that the Arcata Presbyterian Church is almost done with most of the immediate renovations needed due to the September 2017 arson fire. The fire, which seriously injured a person sleeping on the church steps, put a hold on renovation projects. The Arcata Presbyterian Church has housed support group meetings, yoga, martial arts, violin lessons, folk dancers as well as weekly worship over the years. McLain, who also feeds the hungry weekly, says they are ready to revisit renovation planning and that the community oriented church will have an upcoming concert with the Arcata Interfaith Gospel Choir and auction to help with funding the renovations.
