Sea Shepherd Conservation Society's founder, president, and executive director Captain Paul Watson's philosophy on activism is summed up by this comment: "Each and every one of us has the ability to change the world for the better. Paul was a founding member and director of Greenpeace until he left in 1977 to found the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. Sea Shepherd is an international non-profit, marine wildlife conservation organization that uses direct action to “expose and confront illegal activities on the high seas.”
