Incumbents Sweep in Del Norte Elections

Chris Howard and Gerry Hemmingsen will stay in their seats as Del Norte County Supervisors according to preliminary results from the county elections office.

Hemmingsen received 51.75% of the vote in the fourth district contest.  The next nearest candidate,  David Mason received 25.5% of the vote.  If these numbers hold when results are finalized, Hemmingsen will retain the seat without a runoff.

Incumbent Chris Howard received 66.1% of the votes cast.  His only rival, Jake Smith pulled in 397 votes for 33.64%.

Measure A, that imposes term limits on future supervisors, passed handily, with 63.88% of the ballots cast voting "yes".
