OHSU studying, helping confront coronavirus variants
The Oregon Health Authority has confirmed multiple cases of the coronavirus strain that originated in the U.K. Other variants which originated in Brazil, South Africa and California are expected to land in Oregon as well. Scientists are hard at work sequencing the virus’s genome in order to provide data to help with treatment and vaccination.

Marin to Expand Vaccine Eligibility to People Over 64 Next Week
Marin County will allow people 65 and older to receive the coronavirus vaccine beginning next week.
Multnomah County provides door-to-door vaccination service
In Multnomah County, health workers and volunteers are going door-to-door vaccinating eligible people at their homes, including homebound seniors who would have a challenging time getting to an outside vaccination site. Dr. Ann Loeffler, a deputy health officer for Multnomah County, joins us to tell us more about the program and how it's been going.

Oregon has a plan for distributing vaccines
The Oregon Health Authority has developed a plan to distribute COVID-19 vaccines and submitted it to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The plan involves prioritizing distribution to those in health care and other essential workers. In addition, Oregon, Washington, Nevada and California have all agreed to independently review vaccines before distributing them to the public.

OSHA to implement new COVID-19 workplace protection standards
Union leaders have been working with Oregon's Occupational Safety and Health Authority to draft a new set of COVID-19 workplace protection standards. The standards will be implemented by Nov. 1.
