On Sunday, May 11, the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office arrested a suspect for theft of industrial copper wire valued at tens of thousands of dollars.
As reported on Redheaded Blackbelt, the suspect, Brent John Holdridge of Arcata, was previously charged in federal court for entering the Capitol during the Jan. 6 riots.

On May 1, the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) received a report detailing the theft of industrial copper wire valued at tens of thousands of dollars, occurring over several weeks prior to the report.
Following a thorough investigation led by an HCSO Community Services Officer, a suspect was identified. On May 11, HCSO deputies executed a search warrant in the 500 block of Warren Creek Road, Arcata. During the search, authorities recovered a substantial quantity of stolen copper wire and tools used in the commission of the crime.
Brent John Holdridge, 59, of Arcata, was subsequently arrested and transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was booked for the following charges:
-Burglary—PC 459
-Grand Theft—PC 487(a)
-Possession of Stolen Property—PC 496(a)
