Community turns out to offer fire relief

Humboldt County Sheriff William F. Honsal has proclaimed a Local Emergency due to the significant impact of the five-alarm structure fire involving multiple commercial buildings located between Tenth and H Streets in Arcata.

On Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025, at approximately 6:05 am, the University Police Department (UPD) received a report regarding an unknown male subject who had exposed himself and masturbated in front of two female students in the forest on Granite Avenue Extension on campus.

On Nov. 8, 2025, at approximately 12:55 p.m., Humboldt County Sheriff deputies were dispatched to Mad River Beach in Arcata for the report of a human body that had washed ashore.
