UPDATE: The bus burned down. See below.

"Emergency trauma is my jam," says Hollow Downfrontman and registered nurse Perry Brubaker. His relationship with trauma nursing is complicated, but "I do love it. I just can't do it 12 months out of a year."

Hence, the band is about to head out on a national tour in a 75 year-old Greyhound bus, but they stopped by to performed live on KHSU first.

If you're interested in what happens when 4 people, 2 dogs, 1 cat, and two chase vehicles roam North America for 6 months, the band will be vlogging and podcasting throughout the tour (available on their Instagram, Youtube, and Facebook channels.)

Hollow Down's atmospheric twang evokes hardscrabble rockabilly, tough times, and a dash of Tom Waits. In this KHSU interview, they talk about the bus they'll call home for months, living in cars, and the life of a trauma nurse. (KHSU's Craig Kurumada makes a special guest appearance.)

Hollow Down performs tonight at the Miniplex with Belles of the Levee.

Attie, the 1940's Greyhound bus will be home to 4 humans, 3 dogs, and a cat as Hollow Down travels the country.
