Hand-knit and crocheted shawls, ponchos, and other items take the runway before going up for bid at Septentrio Winery in Arcata

ARCATA, Calif. — Yarn will host a fashion show and benefit auction on Saturday, June 27, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Septentrio Winery in Arcata, with proceeds supporting Hospice of Humboldt.

The afternoon opens with a fashion show featuring hand-knit and crocheted shawls, ponchos, and other wearable items. The pieces were either created as shop samples for Yarn or donated by customers. Following the fashion show, all of the featured items will be available for bidding through either a silent auction or a Dutch auction.

Each $10 ticket includes two raffle tickets to use in the Dutch auction. Attendees are encouraged to bring a friend and enjoy an afternoon of fiber arts, wine, and community support for a good cause.

All proceeds from the event will benefit Hospice of Humboldt.

Founded in 1978, Hospice of Humboldt is an independent, nonprofit organization providing hospice care, palliative care, and bereavement support to patients and families throughout northern Humboldt County. The organization is not affiliated with any hospital and is governed by a volunteer board of directors.
