Now in its second decade, Oktoberfest at The Lutheran Church of Arcata is a celebration of Autumn in the form of a traditional German meal. The menu features an abundance of authentic German seasonal cuisine, including Sauerbraten beef roasts marinated for seven days in a traditional wine-vinegar-spice brine, freshly-baked German breads prepared especially for the dinner by Arcata’s Beck’s Bakery, homemade Spätzle (German pasta sautéed in European butter), scratch-made German Apfelstrudel and Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte, and an outstanding selection of imported German beers and wines, as well as local fresh-pressed apple cider. The reservation-only dinner is served tableside, family style, and will be presented in three seatings: 3 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. The requested donation is $25 adults; $15 students and kids. 100% of the net-proceeds of this event go to Arcata House Partnership.
