Yoga Botanica will celebrate its grand opening on Saturday, September 19, at 858 10th Street in downtown Arcata, through the green doors.

The celebration begins at 10:00 a.m. with an official Arcata Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting, followed by a free yoga class led by Yoga Botanica founder Sasha Miksis-Gieder. An open house party will continue until 4:00 p.m., featuring music, food, studio tours, and opportunities to meet the teachers and connect with the local yoga community.

Yoga Botanica is redefining what a yoga studio can be: a sanctuary, gathering space, living plant ecosystem, and place for movement, healing, and connection. Rooted on California’s North Coast, it was created as a welcoming space where people can practice, grow, and cultivate a sense of belonging.

The studio will offer an inclusive and diverse schedule of heated and unheated yoga, movement classes, meditation, workshops, perinatal support, and community gatherings. Offerings are designed to meet people where they are, with options for beginners as well as experienced practitioners—no perfection or performance required.

Yoga Botanica also features a communal sauna and an in-house plant shop carrying plants, herbs, and thoughtfully selected ritual and wellness goods. Its botanical design is intended to nourish the senses and soften the pace of everyday life, creating a space that begins holding and welcoming visitors before class even starts.

Yoga Botanica’s regular class schedule will be in full swing beginning Sunday, September 20.
