One of the Portland Trail Blazers' most popular players of the 1990s is being treated at an area hospital.

Family members announced Wednesday former Blazer Cliff Robinson is receiving treatment at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Beaverton.

The brief statement did not detail what medical issue the 50-year-old is facing. The family has requested privacy.

Robinson played in the NBA for 18 seasons, with nearly half of them in Portland. He retired in 2007.

Robinson has been in the public eye a few times since his playing days. He drew attention last year as a backer of marijuana-related businesses. And in 2014, Robinson became a reality TV star, as part of the “Survivor” franchise.
