Quake Reported Off Oregon Coast

This Pacific Northwest Seismic Network map shows the epicenter of a magnitude 4.2 earthquake that struck off the Southern Oregon coast on Thursday, May 4, 2017.

A small earthquake has been reported off the southern Oregon coast.

The U.S. Geological Survey website says the magnitude 4.2 quake happened Thursday, 136 miles west of Coos Bay.

It occurred at a depth of six miles (10 kilometers).
