Portland police investigated a suspicious item at the Hollywood Transit Center in East Portland.
Police dispatched a bomb squad to investigate the item, later detonating the item in a controlled explosion.
People in the area were evacuated from the transit center during the investigation. Police had closed off I-84 westbound and Northeast Halsey Street near the station, re-opening it shortly before 3 p.m. Friday.
The investigation came two weeks after a man stabbed three people, killing two of them, on a TriMet MAX train near the same station.
