East Bay Express reporter Darwin BondGraham joins us to talk about the Oakland Police Department and Danielle Outlaw, who is coming from that department to be the new chief of Portland police this fall.

Registered nurse, survivor and activist Brenda Tracy is tackling rape threats on Twitter through a Change.org petition campaign. With 241,000 signatures, the petition asks the social media giant to ban accounts of people who make threats against users. Tracy joins us to talk about the culture of sexual violence against women on social media.

Jonathan White is an author, sailor and surfer who spent seven years trying to understand the history and science of ocean tides. We hear from him about his book "Tides: The Science and Spirit of the Ocean."
