Sorry, That President Doesn’t Exist

For eleven 11 minutes last night, President Trump’s favorite window to the world went dark.

Twitter users were greeted with a message saying “that page doesn’t exist” if they visited @realDonaldTrump’s Twitter account.

The company announced the president’s account was shut off by a customer support employee on the employee’s last day.

Twitter Government on Twitter Through our investigation we have learned that this was done by a Twitter customer support employee who did this on the employee’s last day. We are conducting a full internal review. https://t.co/mlarOgiaRF

Twitter later tweeted that it wouldn’t happen again.

Twitter Government on Twitter Update: We have implemented safeguards to prevent this from happening again. We won’t be able to share all details about our internal investigation or updates to our security measures, but we take this seriously and our teams are on it. https://t.co/8EfEzHvB7p
