We get local reaction to the news that U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions will rescind an Obama-era memo giving states that legalized cannabis some assurance they would be safe from federal interference, despite the fact that marijuana remains an illegal, Schedule I drug in the same category as heroin. Amy Margolis with Margolis Legal joins us.
TriMet planners say one of the reasons ridership is down may be that increasing real estate prices in close-in Portland mean that wealthier people are moving into the city’s transit-rich neighborhoods —and they are less likely to actually ride transit. So the people who need transit the most are now forced out into the surrounding areas that have the least access to transit. What’s the solution? We talk with Bernie Bottomly with TriMet and Aaron Golub with Portland State University.
