News Roundtable | Justice Nelson | Billy Williams

We discuss some of the biggest news stories this week with OPB news director Anna Griffin, writer Naseem Rakha and former state Labor Commissioner Jack Roberts.

On Tuesday, Adrienne Nelson became the first African-American on the Oregon Supreme Court. Nelson served for years as a Multnomah County judge before Gov. Kate Brown appointed her to the state’s highest court. Nelson joins us to discuss her new role.

U.S. Attorney for Oregon Billy Williams publicly called out problems with the state’s marijuana system on Friday and says he’ll be convening a summit with federal, state and local law enforcement. This comes a week after U.S. Attorney General, Jeff Sessions rescinded an Obama-era memorandum that gave some legal cover to states that had legalized marijuana.
