This year’s Dungeness crab season in Oregon and Washington has been significantly delayed. It was pushed back from Dec. 1 to Jan. 15 due to the fact that the crabs needed to fill out with more meat. Now, the season is being further delayed by price negotiations between crabbers and processors as well as a big storm brewing off the Oregon coast this week. We talk with crab fisherman and Oregon Dungeness Crab Commission chair John Corbin about the impact of the delayed season on crabbers and the coastal economy writ large.
