An investigation into behavior by Oregon Sen. Jeff Kruse, R-Roseburg, released Tuesday states Kruse had a pattern of “engaging in unwelcome physical contact toward females in the workplace.” We talk with OPB reporter Lauren Dake about the new report.
A new black history festival celebrates African American history with events spanning the Portland metro area. For one of the festival’s exhibits, Black Student Unions at Portland high schools curated black history museums on display at Multnomah County libraries. We talk with festival director Shalanda Sims and Ivy Keller from Jefferson High School’s Black Student Union.
Rule 40 is an International Olympic Committee by-law that prohibits athletes from marketing themselves during the Olympics – a restriction that includes the prohibition of any mention of the Olympics by athletes and non-official sponsors on social media. Rule 40’s blackout period for the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea runs February 1st-28th. Lauren Fleshman, a former professional runner for Oiselle, joins us to discuss the effect the rule has on athletes.
