Coincidentally, there will be a regional Tsunami alert test next week. Dr. Lori Dengler recently wrote in the Times-Standard:

For the first time Del Norte and Humboldt Counties will exercise their emergency mass notification system as part of the test. You have to sign up in advance to receive these notifications. In Del Norte, signup online at http://preparedelnorte.com/resources/Everbridge, or call 707-464-7213. In Humboldt, go to http://humboldtgov.org/alerts or call 707-268-2500.
