Black Milk kept the Pickathon crowd jumping during his set on the Mount Hood Stage Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017.

We get a preview of some of the most anticipated live music events of the summer and listen to samples of a couple of Portland Monthly senior editor Fiona McCann’s favorite artists.

A new artist residency program has been established to help build new communities for Portland artists affected by gentrification. Art Saved My Life project coordinator Natalie Figueroa and hip-hop artist Mat Randol tell us about the program.

Lincoln County Commissioner Claire Hall has gone through a big change while in office this year. She has come out as transgender, and her transition was featured in an article by The Oregonian earlier this month. We find out what it’s been like since the article made everything public.
