Former Gov. Schwarzenegger Unfazed After Being Dropkicked in South Africa

You would think people would know by now that it’s not a good idea to start a fight with Arnold Schwarzenegger.

And yet one man on Saturday took a running start and dropkicked the former California governor at his annual Arnold Sports Classic in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Cell phone video posted on social media shows Schwarzenegger mingling with fans and filming someone jumping rope when an unidentified man runs up behind him, jumps in the air and kicks him the back.

The man was immediately wrestled to the ground and can be heard screaming, “Help me. I need a Lamborghini.”

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, event organizers said in a statement that the attacker was handed over to local law enforcement, but Schwarzenegger is not pursuing charges.

Maybe that’s because according to the former bodybuilder and cyborg assassin, he didn’t even realize someone had tried to go all WWE on him.

“I thought I was just jostled by the crowd, which happens a lot. I only realized I was kicked when I saw the video like all of you. I’m just glad the idiot didn’t interrupt my Snapchat,” Schwarzenegger said on Twitter. (Apparently the Governator is still a big Snapchat guy.)

He asked his followers not to focus on the attacker, but instead to turn the spotlight on the 24,000 athletes participating in the multi-sport competition.

This weekend’s event is part of the larger Arnold Classic Sports Festival World Wide, with competitions held across six continents. According to its website, “All events feature professional bodybuilding and related contests, amateur bodybuilding, strength and combat sports, a large health and fitness expo and youth events that vary from continent to continent.”
