Oregon Health Authority Lifts Warning On 2 Beaches

The Oregon Health Authority lifted warnings for two popular beaches on the coast just in time for Fourth of July celebrations.

Hubbard Creek Beach in Curry County, and Sunset Bay State Park Beach in Coos County, now have clean bills of health. 

Visitors there are advised not to swim, wade or even touch the creeks, pools and runoff.

State officials continue to encourage other recreational activities at all Oregon beaches, suggesting only that water contact be avoided when advisories are in effect.

 

Recent rains have sparked the warnings. The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality has increased monitoring.
