Dunn Forest, just northwest of Corvallis, is closed while officials investigate a report of an aggressive cougar encounter.
A person reported early Saturday that they were approached by a cougar after going for a run in Dunn Forest.
The Oregon State University Research Forests are working with the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife and Oregon State Police to investigate the situation.
The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife estimates there are more than 6,600 cougars in the state.
