Oregon City police say they arrested a high schooler in possession of weapons Wednesday after receiving a tip about a student being armed at school.
Police said they arrested a 16-year-old student without incident after staff at Oregon City High School helped identify and find the student in class. The student had a handgun, and was "in possession of several weapons and ammunition," according to authorities.
Police said the student, who hasn't been named, was arrested for three offenses: unlawful possession of a firearm, disorderly conduct and threat of harm.
Authorities did not connect the arrest to any specific threat against the school or students, and said there was no "other information leading us to believe there are any other threats to students or staff safety." Police said they're still investigating why the student brought weapons to school.
