For the past seven years, students and faculty at Portland State University (PSU) have called on university officials to strip campus police of their firearms. In 2018, the movement gained momentum after campus police shot and killed Jason Washington. Now, two years later, university officials have decided to disarm campus police officers. We hear about the decision from Willie Halliburton, PSU’s new chief of police. We also hear from Angeline Booth, a student who has been involved in the Disarm PSU movement.
