Downtown Portland business owners are asking city leaders to clean debris and vandalism they say is a result of months of protests. Greg Goodman, co-president of the Downtown Development Group, says many businesses have already relocated or left downtown. “Their departure has absolutely nothing to do with [the] Black Lives Matter movement (which has been a positive), but does have most everything to do with the lawlessness you are endorsing downtown,” he wrote in a letter to the mayor and city commissioners. On the 100th day of protests, we hear from Goodman about how business owners are feeling.
