A windstorm on Labor Day fueled wildfires across Oregon and Washington, burning thousands of acres and prompting evacuation notices for thousands of people. Several towns along Highway 22 in Oregon were told early Tuesday to evacuate immediately, and others were told to be prepared to leave at a moment’s notice. The windstorm also caused almost 100,000 Oregonians to lose power on Monday night. OPB’s Erin Ross fills us in about the wildfires and what to expect next.
