The coronavirus pandemic has hit the residents of the outer Southeast Portland neighborhood of Rosewood, near the Gresham border, particularly hard. Between job losses, food insecurity and online school, The Rosewood Initiative, a wide-ranging community resource center, has its hands full like never before. Sabrina Wilson recently stepped into the role of executive director of the Initiative, after being a resident of the area and getting to know the nonprofit as part of her work in Portland city government. She joins us to talk about the challenges residents are facing and The Rosewood Initiative’s role in helping meet those challenges during the ongoing pandemic.
