Racial Justice Council releases priorities for criminal justice reform

After protests for racial justice last summer, Oregon Gov. Kate Brown created the Racial Justice Council to help shape the state’s budget and legislative priorities. Now, the Criminal Justice Reform & Police Accountability sub-committee has released a list of reforms it wants to see the Legislature take on in the 2021 session. The list includes more options for restorative justice and creating local police oversight committees around the state. We talk with the co-chairs of the committee, Lamar Wise and Paul Solomon.
