Sen. Frederick reflects on the importance of Juneteenth and the push to make it a state holiday.

Oregon Sen. Lew Frederick was one the leaders of the push to make Juneteenth a state holiday. The holiday commemorates the day when news of the end of slavery finally reached the last remaining enslaved people in Texas in 1865 -- two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed.
