Heard in Humboldt: Red Hot Shame

Welcome to Heard in Humboldt on KHSU, a program where we play a range of live music performances from Humboldt County.

This week we’ll be re-airing a segment from a previous episode featuring local group Red Hot Shame — made up of singer-songwriter Xeff Scolari with frequent collaborators Steven Pitsenbarger (vocals, percussion), Ryan Wilson (guitar), Spencer Kennedy (bass), Rick Fugate (drums), and James Terris (keys). We’re going to hear a segment of an interview with Xeff Scolari talking about the band, before hearing a recording of their original tune “Unscripted,” which was recorded live at Sirens Song Tavern in Old Town Eureka on Dec. 1, 2023.

Thanks so much to Xeff for the interview and providing the recordings. You can find more of the band's music on the Red Hot Shame website, on Soundcloud and other streaming platforms.

Thanks for listening to Heard in Humboldt on KHSU and tune in next time, as we explore more live music from behind the redwood curtain. And if you’re a local musician who would like your live recordings featured on Heard in Humboldt, send us an email at khsu@humboldt.edu
