Stephanie McGeary
Lead ReporterRaised in Arcata, Stephanie McGeary has lived in Humboldt County for most of her life and is proud to share stories about this weird and beautiful place that she calls home.
After leaving Humboldt when she was 18, Stephanie spent a good amount of time in the Bay Area, where she received certificates in Live Sound Engineering and Studio Recording from CCSF. After returning to the homeland to study at Cal Poly Humboldt, Stephanie graduated in 2018 with a BA in Journalism with a Music minor. She has spent the past six years reporting on Humboldt news, including politics, homelessness, community development, arts, culture and more.
When she isn’t busy reporting or being a mom, Stephanie likes to spend her time supporting local theater, music and performance art by attending, volunteering for, and even occasionally performing in local productions. She also sleeps sometimes.
