Welcome to Heard in Humboldt on KHSU, a program where we play a range of live music recordings from Humboldt County.

As the university station, it’s no surprise that we often receive great recordings of Cal Poly Humboldt student musicians. And this week, we’ll feature another piece showcasing our on campus musical talent. The piece we’ll be hearing is “Yes or No” written by Wayne Shorter, performed by one of Cal Poly Humboldt's Jazz combos, a class led by Dan Aldag where students work on small-group improv jazz pieces. This group is called Djäz Ünlöded and features Luke Faulder on alto sax, Mathias Severn on tenor sax, Silas Bohen on piano, Andrew Erbach on bass and Gavin Kingsley on drums. and was captured at the Fulkerson Recital Hall on campus during sound check before a recital on Dec. 6 2024. So we hope you’ll enjoy “Yes or No” performed by Djäz Ünlöded.
