Welcome to Heard in Humboldt on KHSU, a program where we play a range of live music recordings from Humboldt County.
This week we’re featuring an artist that we just featured recently, Luna Sofia, a local singer-songwriter and Cal Poly Humboldt student. A few weeks ago we played a live recording of Luna playing at Good Day Humboldt in downtown Arcata during the Good Evening Music Series.
We usually focus on live music on this program, but occasionally stray from that formula if we are sent a great studio record from a local artist. And this is one of those cases. Luna Sofia now has her debut album Clay coming out this weekend, and an album release party on Saturday Oct 4 at the Basement. so today we’re playing the single release of that album. This is Luna Sofia with “The Wonder of Being”
You can hear Luna live alongside many other local musicians at the record release party for Clay, on Sunday Oct 4 at 8 p.m. at The Basement in Arcata.
Thank you to Luna Sofia and producer Chris Reynoso, to Frankie for sharing the recording.
Thanks for listening to Heard in Humboldt on KHSU and tune in next time, as we explore more live music from behind the redwood curtain. And if you’re a local musician who would like your live recordings featured on Heard in Humboldt, send us an email to khsu-contact@humboldt.edu
