North Coast Conversations: Ink People Center for the Arts / the MARZ project

This week we are meeting with Libby Maynard, one of the original founding members of the Ink People Center for the Arts, to learn about the MARZ project.

The MARZ project is one of the many community programs that the Ink People facilitate. Students aged 12-26 are welcome to join and learn how to produce digital art, make music, film videos, or any combination of the three under the watchful eyes of the programs' mentors.

The MARZ project has been wildly successful and has helped local at-risk students get off the street, realize their passions, and has even helped launch professional careers for local youth involved in the program.

The Marz Project meets Tuesday through Friday from noon to 5 at the Ink People Center at 627 3rd street in Eureka. For more information about Ink people and the MARZ project, please visit inkpeople.org.

Stay tuned for more episodes of North Coast Conversations as we explore more of the Ink People's projects!

Alejandro Zepeda has worked for KHSU since early 2020, providing news, PSA’s, and an interview show called North Coast Conversations to the station.
