North Coast Conversations: Humboldt Domestic Violence Services

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and Humboldt Domestic Violence Services is here to help and educate. The HDVS is an independent, non-profit agency dedicated to promoting the rights and welfare of those who have survived, or are enduring domestic and intimate partner violence or sex trafficking throughout Humboldt County, providing services, such as a 24/7 support line, counciling, restraining order assistance, emergency sheltering, and support groups, free of charge.

This week, I'm meeting with Diana Guerrero from the HDVS to learn more about available resources and upcoming events.

Visit their website for more information and a full list of available resources.

Stay updated about HDVS events by following their Instagram or Facebook Page

If you are in need of support, you can reach out to their trained domestic violence advocates on the 24/7 support line by calling (707) 443-6042.
Toll free: (866) 668-6543. There is hope.

Thank you for listening and stay tuned for more episodes of North Coast Conversations as we explore more of what the North Coast has to offer.

Alejandro Zepeda has worked for KHSU since early 2020, providing news, PSA’s, and an interview show called North Coast Conversations to the station.
